GoodShort synopsis

I am Eric, the eldest son of the Duke of the Northern Marches of the Midland Kingdom. When I was fifteen, nobles of the realm conspired together and wiped out my entire clan in a single night. My father died in battle. My mother lost her mind. A household servant rescued me, and I have lived in hiding ever since. No one knows that I later became the Grand Commander of the Vault of Heaven, the only living Dragonslayer on the continent. I have slain dragons, frost giants, and all who stood in the kingdom’s way. Tired of the scheming beneath the throne, I retreated to the borderlands. Yet my enemies would not let me rest. My usurper uncle has married my former betrothed and plans a grand wedding. They think I will return to offer my congratulations. At first, I only sought vengeance for my slaughtered family.
