The Sage, Damian Porter, controls the fate of powerful families in the mortal world. To fulfill his disciple's dying wish, he poses as the Neal family's live-in son-in-law to protect them for three years. Scorned and humiliated, he quietly leaves when Rose Neal insists. Misfortune immediately strikes the family. Upon learning the truth, his ex-wife regrets her actions and begs him to return.
